The Egocentric Predicament confronts one of the most heinous evils of humanity today- Human Trafficking. This is my first novel and I have to say that I'm still confident of the quality. It was published through PublishAmerica and is available in print or eBook.
While the theme of the story revolves around HT, this is a horror unlike any you've read. The twists and turns bring you along a roller coaster ride of chills and thrills, and you just don't know what's coming around the bend. But I believe that reading this will forever change the way you look at your world.
A Trucker's Tale is a feel-good, All-American story about Gunnar Brickendale, an everyday Trucker who makes a difference. The nominal fee for this, on Smashwords, is .99 cents, but this is the one story I wrote to be that feel-good tale. Sure, there is plenty of drama and the destruction of the entire country is in the balance, but Brick is on the job.
There have been a goodly amount of books written in the subgenre of Trucker Fiction, but most of them suck and suck bad. If you want to find quality fiction in this niche, look for R.E. Donald, as she's the finest in this little facet. But my intent was to write a novel about a trucker who does what he does while just being a trucker. He isn't a former Seal or Green Beret or covert agent under cover, nor has he received double-secret probation powers from aliens. This character is a driver, pure and simple, and he proves that this is more than enough to change his world. Come on over and see what Gunnar Brick Brickendale can do for his country.
Tangled in Climbing Nightshade confronts another one of our world's worst evils, which is Familial Suicide. A family member, often Dad but not always, kills every family member and then kills himself. This is shocking in two ways- how horrifying the crime is, and how often it occurs. Further, because all those who had the intimate knowledge of what occurred is now dead, the world is left perplexed and open to theorize to the point of exhaustion. This story explores the subject in a way my mind looks at things.
I am happy to say I am quite proud of this novel. I poured everything of myself into it and I believe it shows. I'll happily place it beside any suspense fiction anywhere. But despite the quality I claim it possesses, this is a free download.
The Art of Roddyism is a short story collection. It is free of charge, so enjoy to your heart's content. This collection contains 12 stories I have written over time. Some are fun, some funny, some not so much. But out of the numerous short stories I have written over time, I placed these twelve as some of the best of the best. Included in this are a few of my very first publishing successes in the litmag market, and some that just came to me.
One of these is a short story entitled, Heavy Traffic (if memory serves correctly) and it is the single most difficult story I have ever written. I struggled so much with it, tossed it out and then retrieved it more than once, and I don't even recall how long it took before I finally felt good enough about it to put it out there. But I can say it garnered some attention when it was online.
Out of this dozen, I'm sure you'll find a tale to your liking. Eh, you'll find more than one.
